Muslims should strive for seeking education: Kalbe Sadiq

Lucknow: Terming education as the only tool for development of minority communities, eminent Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Sadiq said on Sunday that that only those communities and nations would survive who exhibit excellence in education. Quoting from religious texts of Holy Quran, Sadiq said that there was no alternative to seeking education from the very birth for humans. He was speaking while chairing a session at the second day of two-day national conference on minority education in UP underway at Integral University.

“We should work for quality and excelence to get much more than what will be given through reservation. Muslims should strive for seeking education come what may,” added Sadiq.

Dean faculty of Law, Aligarh Mslim University (AMU)Prof Shabbir Ahmad said that since the government had now included the education as fundamental right, the approach had to be sincere rather than divided. On the occasion, he also gave the example of institution in south India where condition of minority education is much better than this part of country and demanded a minority education Act to be promulgated.

“We have a historic RTE in hand. Now the need was to look into how the facility is availed. A sincere approach is the need of the hour,” added Prof Shabir.

Speaking on the occasion, Shakeel A Samdani from AMU insisted upon the need to establish law colleges in minority managed institution. He said that the ratio of Muslim Advocates in Supreme Court and High Court were negligible.

The conference organised jointly by AMU and Integral university adopted a resolution and an action plan which was presented during the valedictory session chaired by President All India Muslim Personal Law Board and Rector of Darul Uloom Nadwatululema Maulana Rabey Nadvi.
