Unveiled by Zoya, an exquisite diamond boutique from the house of Tanishq, the collection includes bangles, earrings, pendants, neck pieces and rings in 22 karat beaten gold, kundan and polki, blending ancient charm with contemporary sensibilities.

Rathore, who spent his earlier days in Narlai, near Jodhpur, drew inspiration from hundreds of temples and mosques located in the place and the mysticism of the tribal women of the region.

“We have used twisted gold wire technique to give the jewellery an ancient yet contemporary look. Engraving is also done both in the front and at the back of the jewellery to maintain the ethnicity,” Zoya jewellery designer Queeta Rawat, who gave Rathore’s sketches its real form, told IANS.

“And since marriage season is about to begin, a lot of women are opting for ethnic jewellery to complement their sarees and lehengas. This is the best time for launching such a range,” Rawat added.

However, Rathore missed the unveiling of his new range as he was busy with the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour that kickstarted in Chandigarh Aug 7. The fashion tour will move to Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata before culminating in Bangalore Sep 26.

This is not the first time that Rathore has launched a jewellery range. Zoya had previously collaborated with the designer for a limited collection called Miasma.
