Germany urges Middle East parties to make compromise

By IRNA,

Berlin : Germany on Monday reiterated the need for the Middle East parties to make compromise in a bid to resume direct peace talks.

Sepaking at a routine press briefing, new government spokesman Steffen Seibert called on both parties to show their readiness for a compromise.

He added direct negotiations were necessary to jump-start the bogged down peace process.

Meanwhile, foreign ministry spokesperson Stefan Bredohl urged Israelis and Palestinians to do their utmost to revive direct talks as quickly as possible.

The Zionist regime has refused to accept any pre-conditions for such talks like a complete settlement construction stop in the occupied Palestinians territories, something which Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has demanded.

Western powers, notably the US, has arm-twisted Abbas to agree to direct talks
with Tel Aviv regime.
