Chennai: Professor Jawahirullah, president of Tamil Muslim Munnetra Kazagham (TMMK), has strongly condemned the terror blast in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday which left a toddler dead and 20 others wounded.
“With heavy heart, I condole the death of the girl child, and comfort those injured,” Prof Jawahirullah said. He also demanded fair probe into the attack.
“The act is dastardly, beastly and heinous. The genuine culprits must immediately be traced and brought to books for fair justice. I wonder whenever such ill acts take place, only the Muslim names flickers without fact finding. This can be well assumed that this may be only a discursive act, to divert attention, and pass on aimlessly branding innocent Muslims,” he said.
He cautioned against jumping to conclusion without proper probe and accusing Muslims or their shadowy groups particularly after Hindutva extremists are being found involved in terror cases one after another.
The following incidence can be recalled for an analogue for a kind of digressive force; where in Muslim names have been dragged while the fact remained differently awkward. Hyderabad Mecca Masjid, Nanded, Jaipur, Ajmer Dargah, Samjhauta Express are the best examples for such ploy and foul play, he said.
“In the above cited cases, Muslim names were dragged unnecessarily. I appeal to those in high responsibility to bring the real culprits to books and justice,” Prof Jawahirullah said.
