New Delhi: The Central Government has been providing weavers with a health insurance scheme for their access to healthcare facilities since 2007-08. The scheme will continue till the end of 11th Plan. The Minister of State for Textiles, Panabaaka Lakshmi informed Lok Sabha yesterday.
“The annual cover per family is Rs.15, 000/. Out of which, substantial provision of Rs.7, 500/- has been kept for OPD. The process of filing claims is simple as it can be filed with the cluster coordinator of the insurance company or the representative office of the insurance company or TPA” the Minister further said.
He also made it clear that the scheme has been approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) for implementation during the complete 11th plan and any change in this regard may not be feasible before 12th Plan.
