Patna: Days after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar mooted the abolition of the legislators’ Rs.1-crore annual development fund as it was being “misused”, the state cabinet Tuesday approved the decision to scrap the scheme.
“The cabinet, chaired by Nitish Kumar, finally approved the decision to abolish the legislators’ annual fund,” officials said.
Last week, the cabinet decided in principle to abolish the fund, popularly known as MLAs’ (member of legislative assembly) Fund, supposed to be utilised for development projects.
