Ahmedabad : A special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court here Tuesday rejected the temporary bail application of N.K. Amin, a policeman accused in the 2005 Sohrabuddin Sheikh staged shootout case.
In a one-sentence order, CBI Judge G.K. Upadhyay rejected Amin’s application for temporary bail to attend to his wife’s treatment.
Amin, a suspended police officer arrested for his involvement in the staged shootout, has also sought the court’s permission to turn approver in the case. The CBI has supported his plea to turn approver.
Sheikh was gunned down Nov 26, 2005, and his wife missing without a trace since then is believed to have died in mysterious circumstances a few days later.
