Ranchi: Former Jharkhand minister Kamlesh Singh was Thursday remanded in custody of the Enforcement Directorate (ED)for seven days by a Ranchi court.
The ED had sought 10 days of custody of Kamlesh Singh for interrogation. However, the Prevention of Money laundering Act (PMLA) court of Judge G.K. Singh Thursday granted the agency his cusotdy for seven days. Singh is currently undergoing treatment at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Institute.
He will be taken into custody after being discharged from the hospital.
Singh has been in jail since Nov 30 last year. The Jharkhand High Court had granted him bail in the graft case Monday.
Singh was arrested along with former chief minister Madhu Koda. Two former ministers, Enos Ekka and Hariarayan Rai, are in jail since August 2009 in the same case. The Jharkhand High Court in August handed over the investigation into the graft case to the Central Bureau of Investigation.
