Mumbai: ANHAD will train its cadre to combat communal, fascist and fundamentalist forces in order to protect democracy and secularism of the multi-cultural India. For the purpose, the Delhi-based NGO will organize a 4-day (Dec .26-29) workshop in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
The 4-day workshop will have a maximum of 100 participants from across the state. The academicians, activists, creative people and experts from the state as well as outside of it will train the participants during the camps.
The topics that will be focused at the workshop include ‘The idea of India’, ‘Nationalism’, ‘Nationhood’, ‘The Ideals of freedom struggle’,‘Fascism and Democracy’, ‘Myths, Belief Systems and Scientific Temper’,’ Communal Politics’, ‘Communal politics and Status of Women’, ‘Myths and Facts about Minorities’, ‘Indian Constitution’,
‘Globalization and Communalism’, ‘Formation of Indian Identity and ‘Freedom of Expression.’
The last session of the workshop will be devoted for working out future action plans to enable the participants attending the camps to initiate activities in their areas. It will culminate in a small cultural event involving and exposing the participants to varied forms of cultural expressions.
The participants will be provided with lodging and food during the workshop but they have to arrange travel expenses their own.
