Himanshu Dubey, a party worker from Rajasthan, said: “For the past two days, many of us have not been getting proper food. We had to depend on only tea. There is always a melee at the food court.”

Many workers Sunday complained about the poor quality of food and the lack of adequate plates.

The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) had promised that the arrangements would be satisfactory and 25-30 varieties of food items would be served at the plenary session.

“With the shortage of food, many of us had fruits and coffee,” Prabhu Chawla, a member of the Uttar Pradesh unit of the party said.

When IANS contacted Delhi’s Social Welfare Minister Mangat Ram Singhal, in-charge of the catering services, he said there were no complaints regarding the quality of the food served.

“On Saturday, we had received a few complaints about the way we serve food items but there were no complaints on the quality. Now we have asked the MLAs to supervise the catering services,” Singhal said.
