The new 24-hour helpline number, 155363, which will replace the existing number, 128128, and will be operational from Jan 1 to register complaints and suggestions regarding Delhi Metro services.

“This new helpline number will replace the existing number 128128 as DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) was receiving many complaints from the commuters that the number does not connect with GSM and CDMA mobile phones,” Delhi Metro spokesperson Anuj Dayal said.

He said that the previous number 128128 will become non-functional from the day the new number is operational.

With the new helpline number, DMRC promises to provide easy access and speedy solutions to public queries and complaints.

“The concerned officials will be immediately informed about a complaint to ensure that a quick solution is provided,” Dayal said.

Mobile users and even callers residing outside Delhi can avail the service by calling 011-155363. The new number has been provided with caller ID and recording facility.

However, the calls made on this service are not toll free.

According to DMRC, the new helpline service will help the physically challenged commuters as they can call this number in advance and seek assistance from the Metro staff to provide wheelchair facility to old and physically challenged commuters in all the Metro station.

The online customer care cell which works from Delhi Metro’s Shastri Park depot on an average receives about 150 calls in a day pertaining to train timings, feeder bus services, fares and Metro routes.

Apart from this, complaint and suggestion books are also available with the station managers at all the Metro stations.
