Chennai : Chennai police have issued summons to suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi, following a complaint lodged against him by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), an official said Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters here, Chennai Police Commissioner T. Rajendran said summons have been issued to Modi and six others to appear for inquiry during the first week of next month.
In a complaint against Modi and six others, BCCI secretary N. Srinivasan charged them with misappropriation of around Rs.468 crore. The complaint was lodged in October.
The city police have issued the summons after studying the replies given by the BCCI to a questionnaire sent to it in October.
