The Anti-Corruption of Bureau (ACB) of the state registered the case of criminal misconduct after the designated court directed it to probe the alleged irregularities.

There are allegations that Rosaiah, as chief minister, committed irregularities in handing over a nine-acre prime land in Ameerpet area of Hyderabad to a private company.

The court directed ACB to register the case after an advocate filed a petition against the transfer of land worth Rs.200 crore. The court asked the anti-graft body to submit its report by Jan 28.

The petitioner alleged that Rosaiah denotified the property in violation of the norms. The land was in acquisition of the government and was allegedly handed over to a private developer for constructing a commercial complex.

Rosaiah had resigned as the chief minister last month on health grounds.
