Chennai: Ahead of the 2011 Tamil Nadu assembly elections, the AIADMK general council here Thursday authorised party general secretary J. Jayalalithaa to hold talks and decide on issues related to electoral alliance and sharing of seats.
The council also passed resolutions condemning the ruling DMK government for not providing relief to those affected by the recent rains and ignoring the welfare of fishermen.
The council also slammed the state government for not doing enough to protect fishermen from attacks by the Sri Lankan Navy.
The government was also criticised for not augmenting power generation capacity and non-maintenance of power stations in the state, poor law and order situation and the price rise.
The party also passed a resolution condemning DMK leader and Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi for the 2G spectrum allocation scam.
Earlier, addressing the party, Jayalalithaa said the people were eager to see the AIADMK come back to power.
