Patna: Admitting his expertise in epigraphy, University Grants Commission (UGC) has inducted Dr. Imtiyaz Ahmad, Director of Khuda Bakhsh Oriental Public Library, into the Experts Committee on Revitalization of Epigraphy in the University System.
The UGC has formed the six-member committee of the experts from different parts of the country to revitalize the epigraphy at the universities of the country. The committee is chaired by Kapila Vatsyayayn, MP, Rajya Sabha. It gets prominence for Dr. Imtiyaz as he is the only member from eastern India on the Committee.
This was second achievement for Dr. Imtiyaz in a short period of time. Only last month he was nominated as the member of the Peer Review Committee of the Asiatic Society, Kolkata. The committee was instituted to review the functioning of the Asiatic Society during last 25 years and to outline the map for the development in future.
