Mumbai : Engineering and construction major Larsen and Toubro (L&T) Thursday said that its metallurgical and water operating sectors have bagged projects worth Rs.1,164 crore (Rs.11.64 billion).
“The minerals and metals unit has secured an order worth Rs.523 crore from Tata Steel Limited. It is for a 600,000 tonnes per year continuous annealing and processing line for production of cold rolled steel sheet for automotive application,” the company said in a regulatory filing.
Nippon Steel Engineering will provide the technology and imported line equipment. The project is scheduled to be completed in 30 months.
The water operating unit got an order worth Rs.530.84 crore from the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board for water supply schemes in Hongenakkal. The project, to be funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency, will include works like supply and laying pipelines.
The execution period of the project is two years.
In another development, the company won a project worth Rs.110.60 crore from the Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Division for the development of a sewerage network and construction of sewage treatment plant in Hoshiarpur and Jalandhar.
The contract period of the project is one year.
At the Bombay Stock Exchange, the shares of the company were 0.82 up to trade at Rs.1,971.50.
