Police rescue 2 siblings kidnapped in Gurgaon

Gurgaon : Two siblings, being driven by their mother to school in Gurgaon — a suburb of the national capital, were kidnapped Tuesday morning. Acting swiftly, the police rescued both and arrested the kidnappers.

The kids — Tanshi, 8, and her six-year-old brother Arun — were on their way to St. Lawrence School in Sector 29 at 8 a.m in an Ambassador car, which Vandana Gupta, their mother, was driving.

SOme 500 metres from the school, their car was overtaken by another vehicle and forced to a stop, S.S. Deswal, commissioner of police said.

The kidnappers commandeered Gupta’s car and then drove both the vehicles to Bhondsi area in Gurgaon where they pushed the mother out of the car before fleeing with the kids.

Police, however, traced the vehicles, rescued the two kids and arrested the three kidnappers.
