New Delhi: Muslim leaders have strongly condemned the Pune blast in which 9 people were killed yesterday, and demanded fair probe. They termed it as act of anti-India forces who do not want to see India progress and become a developed country. Such acts are also aimed at spoiling the communal harmony in the country.

Maulana Abdul Hameed Nomani, secretary, Jamiat Ulema-I-Hind, said: The Pune blast is highly condemnable. It was aimed at spoiling communal harmony and to mar the name of India in the world. He also said that such attacks are being carried out to hamper the economic growth of India.

“The countrymen have now learnt about the forces involved in the terror attacks in the country. They are big powers who do not want India to progress,” Maulana Nomani said and called upon the communities to come out and condemn such forces.

Dr Zafrul Islam Khan, Editor, Milli Gazette, and ex-president All India Muslim Majlise Mushawarat while condemning the incident demanded fair probe into the attack. He, however, expressed pleasure that in the leadership of Home Minister P. Chidambaram finger-pointing before probe has weakened. This will help the investigation to go in the right direction, unbiased, he hoped.

Dr Khan also pointed out that the Pune attack should not be seen in isolation. It has happened amid uproar by Shiv Sena and murder of Adv Shahid Azmi.

Dr Tasleem Rahmani, president, Muslim Political Council of India, said the blast took place when it was being said that after arrest of Sadhvi Pragya and her team terror attack has stopped. He said these attacks are part of larger conspiracy.
