The decision was taken Thursday at the first meeting of the committee, presided over by Speaker Meira Kumar, sources said Friday. Deputy Speaker Karia Munda and seven members of the committee were also present at the meeting – the first since the 15th Lok Sabha was constituted last year.

According to the new rules, all listed questions must be taken even if the MP who asked the question is not present in the house.

The decision follows the situation after the speaker was forced to adjourn the question hour Nov 30 during the winter session as several MPs listed to ask questions, were absent. The house was adjourned 30 minutes before completion of the question hour.

The Rajya Sabha Dec 15 amended the rules on question hour.

The rules committee also decided to allow MPs to wear the tricolour to the house.
