Hyderabad: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat Sunday supported the demand for formation of smaller states.
Addressing a meeting of RSS cadre here, he said there was nothing wrong in division of a state to form smaller states as this would only help in better governance. He was obviously referring to the demand for bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh to carve out separate Telangana state.
“Respecting the people’s sentiments and keeping in mind the country’s security, smaller states can be formed for better governance,” he said.
The RSS chief opposed dialogue with Pakistan, saying the neighbouring country continued to sponsor terrorism in India.
He said there were law and order problems in those parts of the country where religious conversions were taking place.
Criticising the United States, Mohan Bhagwat said it was spreading its own culture around the world in the name of globalisation.
