New Delhi: India outplayed arch rivals Pakistan 4-1 in the Hockey World Cup pool B match here Sunday and a near-capacity Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium erupted in celebration here Sunday.
Sandeep Singh (2), Shivendra Singh and Prabhjot Singh scored for India to hand the home team a memorable victory and to give their World Cup campaign a big push on day one. Sohail Abbas was the Paksitan scorer.
India were leading 2-0 at half time.
