Fog delays 22 trains from Delhi

By IANS,

New Delhi : Early morning fog in Delhi led to at least 22 trains, including two Rajdhani Express, being rescheduled Sunday, a railway official said.

“We have rescheduled trains. We have no other option. The trains reaching and leaving Delhi are being operated at a safe speed due to dense fog. This is being done across our network of 400 km radius in northern India, which is under heavy fog,” a spokesperson for the Northern Railways told IANS.

Rajdhani Express trains for Howrah and Sealdah were delayed by more than three hours, while a few others were running 10 hours behind schedule, the official said.

Rail services were restored between Delhi and Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh Sunday, a day after 10 people were killed when two trains collided in Kanpur district in the dense fog.

Two accidents also took place in Etawah and Allahabad districts of Uttar Pradesh due to fog.
