Cold wave continues in Delhi

New Delhi : The wind chill factor continued to add to the woes of shivering Delhi residents Tuesday, but there was some respite from the fog.

The national capital recorded a minimum temperature of 9.3 degrees Celsius, two notches above average, but the maximum had dropped to 14 Monday, the lowest in the last five years.

Early Tuesday, visibility was around 800 metres and flights at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) were on schedule, an airport official said.

The weatherman has forecast mist and shallow fog Wednesday morning.

“Skies will mainly remain clear with the maximum and minimum temperature settling around 16 degrees and 8 degrees Celsius,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.
