Patna: Bihar’s main opposition RJD criticized BJP ex-president Rajnath Singh for his comment that Muslim reservation would lead to separation and differences between the communities, and asserted that the reservation, in fact, will bring Muslims to the mainstream.
Addressing a press conference RJD spokesperson Mr Shakeel Ahmad Khan said that Singh’s statement once again has exposed the anti-Muslims face of BJP.
“Rajnath Singh’s anti-Muslim reservation statement is dangerous for unity, security and secularism of the country because he tried to provoke the people to oppose reservation for Muslims saying that it will lead to division of the country. Reality is that reservation will bring Muslims to mainstream” said Khan.
“Whenever any commission was formed to probe the riots, BJP strongly opposed it because people of RSS and its like-minded political parties have always been involved in riots that took place across the country. It is a fact that Muslims became backward because they were targeted in riots after independence and Mishra Commission has prescribed the real remedy for the welfare of the community by recommending reservation for them but BJP could not digest it because it does not want to see Muslims progress” he added.
He said that Mr. Singh said that Mishra Commission has recommended reservation to Muslim on the basis of their religion which is totally baseless. Justice Mishra not only advised reservation for Muslims but also for other communities which will help them to remove their backwardness.
RJD general secretary Ram Kirpal Yadav said: “Backward class people from other communities have been benefited with reservation but Muslims and Christians have been deprived of that. Therefore, to solve their educational, social and economic problems it is necessary to implement Mishra Commission.”
