Bangalore : Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Sunday said veteran Marxist leader Jyoti Basu had great admiration for Swami Vivekananda.
In a statement, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said a few years ago he met Jyoti Basu who had “great admiration for Swami Vivekananda and he mentioned that religion and spirituality is the private affair of people”.
Jyoti Basu died in Kolkata Sunday.
“Jyoti Basu was not against spirituality, but against superstition,” Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said.
He said that they discussed yoga and pranayama.
