New Delhi: A gang involved in numerous cases of robbery and snatching in Delhi and adjoining areas of Uttar Pradesh has been busted with the arrest of two of its members, Delhi Police said Sunday.
Mohammad Israel, 37 and Harun, 30, were arrested from near Kalindi Kunj area of south Delhi Saturday evening. “Israel, the gang leader, is involved in more than 16 cases of robbery, murder, attempt to murder and snatching. Harun is involved in six such cases,” a senior police officer said.
The Delhi Police’s Special Cell, which nabbed the two, recovered two motorcycles, Rs.15,000 in cash, a country made pistol and a knife from them.
“The gang had recently committed a robbery in Pahar Ganj area, Shalimar Garden, Sahibabad and Ghaziabad,” the police officer added.
