Hyderabad : Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj Saturday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will launch nationwide protests on price rise next week.
The BJP leader told reporters here that the party would also attack the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) central government on the price rise issue in the budget session of parliament.
“In the budget session, we will attack this government, especially on price rise, as this is the major issue of the common man of this country,” she said.
Swaraj said the BJP would organise ‘dharnas’ and rallies at the district level this month-end and Feb 1-15 at the national level.
Exuding confidence that Telangana state would soon become a reality, the BJP leader criticised the Congress for not taking a clear stand on the issue. She wanted to know from the Congress-led central government how long it would take for consensus to be arrived at on Telangana.
Swaraj, who addressed a public meeting on Telangana organised by student organisation Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in Hyderabad, said she would also meet leaders of Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC).
