Dubai: A new fuel discovered by a Dubai-based firm is claimed to be more efficient in cutting metals and would cause less harm to the environment.
The new product “cutting edge gas not only addresses environmental challenges and contributes to sustainable development practices, it is also more economical, thus optimising resource efficiency by industries”, said Hesham Ali Mustafa, general manager of Emirates Gas.
The company said that the cutting edge gas, used for cutting, heating, brazing and gouging metal applications, is about 30 per cent cheaper, lasts longer, reduces handling costs and is environment-friendly and safer than acetylene, WAM news agency reported.
Acetylene is a commonly used fuel for cutting industrial metal. But, according to the firm, the uses, storage and handling of new fuel will be more convenient.
