After getting ‘indecent proposal’ from her father in-law, Parveen decides to teach him a lesson

It was completely against the spirit of his own name, when Mohammad Islamuddin (52), a Delhi police sub-inspector, reportedly asked Parveen (28), his own daughter-in-law to get into prostitution, when she asked for money for her children school fee and food.

Talking to TwoCircles.net, Parveen said; “I wanted money for education and food for my children, so when I begged Nasir (32), (her husband) and his father, they told me to get into prostitution (Bachcho ke liye paise chahiye toh jakar dhanda kar le),”

Parveen had married Nasir, son of a Delhi police cop in 2000. But after ten years of continuous torture and harassment by her husband and her in-laws, finally she has decided to teach them a lesson. She has given up on her marriage and has approached Delhi Commission of women for justice.

Talking about her torture by Nasir and his father, she said that her ordeal started just few days after her marriage. She used to get beatings when, she used to object to Nasir’s drinking habits. The fact that she gave birth to two daughters, made the matter worse.

“Nasir and his cop father often tortured me for dowry and my two daughters. Things didn’t change even when four years ago, I gave birth to a boy. His father even threatened to kill me. They accused me of having affair with other men and some times they pushed me out of the house.” Parveen added.

Finally Parveen gathered some courage and decided that she won’t bear the torture as a passive victim. She approached Delhi Women’s Commission with the purpose of teaching her husband and her cop father-in-law a lesson. This, in spite of threats from her in-laws that she won’t be able to match up to the power of her cop father-in-law.

“After suffering 10 years of torture, I decided to take action against them. I left their house with my children but Nasir threatened me that his father is a cop and I cannot do anything. But still I went to the Delhi Women’s Commission (DWC) for justice. I have three kids and I want their life secured and I will fight for my rights.” Parveen added.

She has asked for protection for her and her children besides maintaince from her husband. TCN got to know that DCW will be sending letter for protection officer for Parveen and her children

She regretted at the fact that she didn’t speak out earlier and went through the torture silently. “I should have spoken against them much earlier as it was not easy going through ten years of torture and harassment.”

Pramod Sachdeva, legal counselor, DWC told this correspondent, that the Commission had ordered the accused father and the son to appear on 6th of July but they didn’t turn up, so another notice has been sent to them to appear on 2nd of August.

“If they don’t turn up this time then we will take the help of police.” Mrs. Sachdeva added.

Nasir refused to comment on the whole issue, when this correspondent approached him.
