Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar Friday demanded that the drug nexus case in which Home Minister Ravi Naik’s son Roy has been allegedly linked, should be immediately handed over to the CBI for an impartial probe or else Naik should resign.

“The chief minister is hiding the file in which several officers have recommended that the case should be handed over to the CBI. I had asked for the file for the ad hoc committee (Parrikar is also chairman of the legislative assembly’s ad hoc committee on home), but I could not get it,” Parrikar said.

“The file is stuck with the chief minister. He is responsible for the present situation,” he added.

Both the opposition and the students organisations across party lines have demanded that Naik should resign as home minister in order to facilitate an impartial probe against his son by the central investigating agency. Seven policemen have already been arrested for their alleged links to two Israeli drug dealers, Yaniv Benaim alias Atala and David Driham alias Dudu.
