The complaint submitted by the chairman of the Dalit Human Rights Movement reportedly seeks to reveal the role of the Shivsena and the DySP of Attingal in the conspiracy against Dalits. The complaint accuses the Kerala police of hunting Dalit families in the name of terrorism that isn’t. The police began the Dalit hunt by blaming the DHRM for the murder of a trader in Varkkala in Thiruvananthapuram. The chargesheet naming the leaders of the organisation including the chairman is fabricated, says the complaint according to reports. The police have not been able to find evidence even after 10 months. The DHRM is trying to free the Dalit colonies of drugs by spreading Budhism and Ambedkarism. The government is now trying to destroy the organisation as it could amass votes in the last Parliamentary elections and because of its growth all over the state, the complaint says.

In another development, the DHRM accused that the police were torturing those campaigning for the mouthpiece of the organisation – the publication titled ‘Swathanthra Naattuvishesham’. The police illegally took into custody men and women who were campaigning for the publication peacefully in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Idukki districts, accused the publication’s editor KR Remya and Selvaraj in a press conference in Kochi. The copies of the publication were destroyed and the persons taken to police custody were released after mental harassment in police station for a long time, without registering any case. They added that the government was trying to make the Dalits terrorists with the help of the police.
