Minorities Department will be created in two months: Kerala Minister Paloli Muhammed Kutty

Kozhikode: A Minorities Department will be created in the state within two months, said state minister Paloli Muhammed Kutty. He was inaugurating the membership distribution of the pension of the Madrasa Teachers’ Welfare Fund and handing over the government funds in Kozhikode.

The state government has a minorities’ cell to implement the recommendations of the Sachar Committee report. Instead of this the Minorities Department will be fully functioning in two months. Kerala is the first state to implement the Sachar Committee recommendations, said the minister.

Paloli Muhammed Kutty is the Minister for Local Self Government and Rural Development. He is in charge of Hajj and Waqf Affairs. The state government had formed a committee headed by him to study how to implement the Sachar Committee recommendations in Kerala. The committee included several important personalities in the Mulism community. The report was submitted but a majority of the recommendations are reportedly yet to be implemented.
