Shimla : The week-long monsoon session of the Himachal Pradesh legislative assembly will start here Aug 17, an official statement said here Tuesday.
“Governor Urmila Singh has recommended convening of the monsoon session of the assembly from Aug 17-23. There will be five sittings during the session,” said the statement.
During the session, the opposition Congress is expected to attack the Bharatiya Janata Party government in the state on issues like the recent hike in the fares of public transport buses, the increase in value-added tax on consumer goods, the allegedly deteriorating law and order and the invitation to private universities to set up institutes in the state.
