New Delhi: The National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH), an autonomous organization with the Ministry of Home Affairs, has invited applications for two National Communal Harmony Awards, one each for an individual and an organization. Completed applications should reach NFCH latest by June 30, 2010.
NFCH undertakes various activities for promotion of communal harmony, fraternity and national integration. In particular, the Foundation provides assistance for physical, educational and psychological rehabilitation of child victims of communal, caste, ethnic and terrorist violence. As on date, more than 10000 such children have been benefited from the Foundation’s scheme of assisting the child victims.
The National Communal Harmony Awards – one each for an individual and an organization – are given annually for outstanding contribution to promotion of communal harmony and national integration. The Award consists of a citation and cash prize of Rs. 2 lakh in individual category and a citation and cash prize of Rs. 5 lakh in the organization category. A Jury headed by the Vice-President of India makes selection for conferment of awards.
