New Delhi: All top Indian Muslim organizations have strongly condemned the Israeli attack on the human aid ships convoy in which about 20 people were killed on Monday morning. While Israel is being condemned by the world community for the bloody attack on civilians, India is yet to say a word on it.
Jamiat Ulema-I-Hind has condemned the Israeli armed forces attack on unarmed human rights activists who were carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza on May 31. Qari Syed Mohd Usman Mansoorpuri said the attack is a proof Israel has no regard to humanity and UN laws. He warned the attack will jeopardize peace not only in the Middle East but in the entire world. He urged the Indian government to reconsider its diplomatic relations with Israel.
The All India Muslim Majlis-e Mushawarat has also condemned the Israeli piracy and attack on a peaceful humanitarian effort undertaken by 700 volunteers from all over the world who were taking a flotilla of ships to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.
“The All India Muslim Majlis-e Mushawarat, the umbrella body of Indian Muslim organisations, is outraged by the Israeli piracy and the exceptionally unlawful behaviour of attacking a peaceful humanitarian effort undertaken by hundreds of volunteers from all over the world who were taking a flotilla of ships to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza which is blockaded by Israel in defiance of the world community as defined by the United Nations Security Resolution No. 1860 and by the international law under which the siege is illegal whether Gaza is an occupied terrority as it factually is or if it is not an occupied area as Israel claims,” said Syed Mohd Jafar, Acting President of Mushawarat. He also demanded the Indian government “to play its active role to protect the people of Palestine and to curtail its unethical relations and cooperation with the outlaw state of Israel.”
Condemning the attack by Israeli forces on a flotilla in international water carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza, Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari, President, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind termed the attack as barbaric and inhuman. He said that Israel by this act has showed that it neither respects international law nor cares for world opinion. Ameer Jamaat demanded the government of India to strongly condemn this barbaric attack and call upon Israel to immediately lift the inhuman Gaza siege.
Popular Front of India strongly condemned the Israeli military attack on Freedom Flotilla in the international, killing 20 humanitarian activists and injured another 50 people. “This attack on the humanitarian ships and killing of people on humanitarian mission is a violation of international law and constitute war against humanity,” PFI General Secretary, K M Shareef said. PFI called upon the Government of India “to immediately withdraw from all civil and military cooperative ventures with Israel.”
Delhi-based Palestine Solidarity Movement while condemning the military attack which has killed and wounded dozens of innocent civilians on board the vessels appealed to the people of the World, specially India and the Arab Countries to “forcefully declare their anger, and to exercise pressure on their governments and leaders to move quickly and powerfully to prevent further violations and inhuman aggression by the Israeli military against the fleet,” M Gauhar Iqbal, Convenor, Palestine Solidarity Movement said.
Several nations including Spain, Sweden, Turkey and Greece have summoned Israeli ambassadors and the EU has called for an immediate inquiry. They have strongly condemned the attack. India has not yet issued any statement on the attack.
