AMU organized science refresher course for madrasa teachers

Aligarh: The Centre for Promotion of Science (CPS), Aligarh Muslim University organized a Refresher Course in Science Subjects for teachers from Muslim Managed Educational Institutions and an Introductory Science Course for teachers from madrasas.

Prof. Rashid Hayat Siddiqui, Department of Civil Engineering and Prof. A.N.K Yusufi, former Chairman, Department of Biochemistry gave away the certificate of participation and gift books to the participants. A total number of 36 participants (20 in Refresher Course and 16 in Introductory Science Course) were felicitated at the valedictory programme.

Course objective is to create awareness of the importance of acquiring scientific knowledge. It is expected that these will also motivate madrasas to introduce science teaching in their curricula.

Earlier Prof. Naheed Banu, Director, Centre for Promotion of Science welcomed the guests and presented an introduction of the Centre. Prof. Banu also paid rich tributes to the founding Director of the Centre Late Prof. Asrar Ahmad. Dr. Hisamuddin conducted the programme.

CPS was established on March 26, 1985.
