Chennai : Three DMK candidates filed their nominations for the ensuing Rajya Sabha elections here Wednesday.
The DMK has announced K.P. Ramalingam, T.M. Selvaganapathy and Sangarankoil Thangavel as its candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections slated for June 17.
The party has allocated one seat to its ally Congress. Six Rajya Sabha seats are falling vacant in Tamil Nadu this month.
While the DMK-Congress combine is fielding four candidates, the leading opposition party AIADMK is contesting for two seats with support extended by its allies MDMK, Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) and Communist Party of India (CPI).
The AIADMK has announced P.H. Manoj Pandian and K.V. Ramalingam as its candidates.
