Shimla : Moderate rain in various parts of Himachal Pradesh Thursday brought down the temperature by a few notches, with the weatherman forecasting more thundershowers in the state Friday.
Manmohan Singh, director of the meteorological office here, told IANS that most of the prominent tourist destinations like Shimla, Narkanda, Kufri, Kasauli, Palampur, Dharamsala and Manali saw moderate spells of rain during the day, bringing the temperatures considerably down.
State capital Shimla, recorded a high of 27.1 degrees Celsius, a fall by 3.4 degrees against Wednesday’s temperature of 30.5 degrees Celsius.
Kalpa, a picturesque town 250 km from here, recorded maximum temperature of 17.4 degrees Celsius, down from Wednesday’s 23 degrees Celsius.
Sundernagar in Mandi district recorded a high of 30.9 degrees Celsius, while it was 30.4 degrees Celsius at Dharamsala in Kangra district. These towns Wednesday saw the maximum temperature of 39.2 degrees and 36.8 degrees Celsius respectively.
