US students group visits AMU to learn Urdu

Aligarh: A team of twenty-one students of the University of North Carolina (USA) is on a visit to Aligarh Muslim University. The students are on a study tour to learn Urdu/Hindi languages and Indian history and culture. The group yesterday met AMU Vice Chancellor Prof. P. K. Abdul Azis at his residence.

The group of students of University of North Carolina is headed by Dr. Afroz Taj, Associate Professor of South Asian Languages and Literatures.

Dr. John Coldwell of the University of the University of North Carolina said that his University is interested to establish collaborative relations between the two institutions to promote friendship and to cooperate in a mutually beneficial association.

On this occasion, AMU Registrar, prof. V. K. Abdul Jaleel, Controller, Prof. Pervez Mustajab, Finance Officer, Mrs. Yasmin Jalal, Proctor, Prof. M. Zubair Khan, DSW, Prof. Ainul Haq Khan, Media Advisor, Prof. N. A. K. Durrani, PRO, Dr. Rahat Abrar and Coordinator, GEC, Dr. Shakeel Samdani also interacted with the US students.
