New Delhi: The final result of the Combined Defence Services examination (ii), 2009 was announced today. There are only 5 Muslims among 383 candidates who have qualified for admission to the 129th Course of Indian Military Academy (Dehradun), Naval Academy (Kerala) and Air Force Academy (Hyderabad) (Pre-Flying) Training Course i.e. 188th F(P) Course.
All five Muslims have qualified for admission to Indian Military Academy (Dehradun). One of them has also qualified for Naval Academy (Ezhimala, Kerala).
There are some common candidates in the three lists for various courses. In total 274 have qualified for Indian Military Academy, there are five Muslims among them, with Mohammad Iliyas Kathat (Rank 49) as the highest ranker among Muslims. Among 48 for Indian Naval Academy, there is one Muslim Ali M Raza who is 28th rank. No Muslim is in the list of successful candidates for Air Force Academy.

The number of vacancies, as intimated by the Government is 250 for Indian Military Academy {including 32 vacancies reserved for NCC ‘C’ Certificate (Army Wing) holders}, 40 for Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala(including 6 vacancies reserved for NCC ‘c’ Certificate (Naval Wing) holders] and 32 for Air Force Academy, Hyderabad.
