PFI encourages students with its “School Chalo” campaign

Bangalore: Muslims students have high drop-out rates, to plug-in this major source of educational backwardness Popular Front of India (PFI) organizes an annual “School Chalo” programme in which students from the weaker sections are given scholarships. In Karnataka, programme was conducted in various localities on June 5th and 6th this year.

On the 5th of June 2010 PFI organized students rally at Khushal Nagar & K G Halli. Students walked around the area with the slogans on the cards to spread the awareness and importance of education in the society. The rally started from the venue Khushal Nagar main road passing through the inner streets, Vinobhanagar, K.G.Halli & Venkateshpuram.

More than 150 students along with their families & friends participated. Majority of students were from the Government School and from an economically challenged background. Scholarships as cash cheques were awarded to students of Govindpur and K.G.Halli. Books were distributed among all the students.



Moulana Mohammed Zaid (Imam of Masjid-e-khair), Shoiabullah Sharief, Sumaiya Begum (SDPI candidate ward -30), Ayesha Mohammedi (SDPI candidate ward – 23), Mr. Basheer (Kolar district President PFI), and Mr. Mukarram Khan (PFI In charge) participated in this program.

On June 6, 2010 similar programme was organized at Padarayana Pura.

The Chief Guest and the Corporator of Padarayana Pura ward delivered her speech the importance of education in all levels of the society. She said that she’ll provide education to all the children those who are away from the schools and education and try support them by all means. She also said that, she is planning to provide education to adults.





The next session was by Mohammed Tahir District President of PFI expressed his opinions about the necessity and the importance of education in the present condition. And he said that we are planning to provide education not only in our concerned areas but also throughout the country.

Moulana Mufti Ehteram-ul-Haq also expressed his thoughts and suggested all Urdu medium schools must provide English language as a compulsory subject from the nursery education itself.





Fayaz Ahmed District Committee member SDPI, Umar Farooq Gen. Secretary Bangalore district SDPI were also present in the Dias.

Programme is concluded with the speech of Jameel Ahmed Chamrajpet Assembly Committee Member SDPI and gave vote of thanks to all who were present in the Dias.
