Temperature rises in Himachal

Shimla : Temperatures across Himachal Pradesh rose slightly in the absence of rain Sunday, with state capital Shimla recording a high of 25.9 degrees Celsius against Saturday’s 24.3 degrees Celsius.

“Temperatures in the hill state rose Sunday after two days of widespread rains,” Manmohan Singh, director of the meteorological office here, told IANS.

Kalpa, a picturesque town 250 km from here, recorded a maximum temperature of 21 degrees Celsius, up from Saturday’s 20.5 degrees Celsius.

Likewise, Sundernagar in Mandi district recorded a high of 35.1 degrees Celsius, while it was 36.2 degrees Celsius at Dharamsala in Kangra district. These towns Saturday saw a maximum of 33 degrees and 32.6 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The Met department forecast rain and thundershowers in the state Monday.
