Alappuzha: The Alappuzha Chief Judicial Magistrate Court has found prime facie evidence against the school principal in the head-scarf row, according to reports. The court has ordered that a summons be sent to Mary Jaseenta, principal of the Believers Church English School, asking to be present in the court on July 31. The court was directly handling the case on the petition filed by the father of the Muslim girl who was thrown out of school for wearing a head-scarf.
The incident related to the case took place in the school in Alappuzha where a Muslim girl named Nabala was forcefully given the Transfer Certificate for wearing a head-scarf in the school premises. The reason for ousting from school was mentioned in the TC as ‘head-scarf was not allowed in the school’. The parents of Nabala complained to the police and the Education Department against the violation of religious and individual rights. Political leaders, religious leaders etc came up against the anti-democratic act of the school.
Nabala’s father also approached the court with a petition and the court was directly looking into the case. The court collected evidence from Nabala’s father Naseer Musliyar, witnesses, etc. His lawyer Adv Najeeb had presented the TC given by the school to Nabala and several other documents in the court as evidence. The Alappuzha Chief Judicial Magistrate Muhammed Waseem asked the school principal to be presen tin the court after going through all these evidences.
