Lucknow: The Shia College Teachers Association (SCTA) on Monday has condemned the attempts by several muslim clerics and organisations to defame the institution. The association also decried the demand for appointing a receiver by the government to manage the affairs of the college.
In an executive committee meeting of the association held on Monday it was resolved that the minority institution Shia PG College is functioning smoothly and there is no reson for dissolving the management committee. Recently on June 4, eminent shia cleric and Imam-e-Juma Maulana Kalbe Jawwad has joined hands with one time adversary Maulana Ali Nasir Saeed Abaqati aka Agha Roohi in raising the demand for a probe in alleged large scale irregularities in the instiution. The clerics have demanded dissolving the management committee and appointing a government receiver. The issue of nepotism in appointing faculty members and other staff also was raised by them during their interaction with press on Friday.
On the other hand, President, SCTA Dr Ali Kausar Rizvi and secretary, Dr S Athar Hussain Rizvi chided these remarks and have opposed their demands terming it as a false propaganda unleashed for maligning the image of the institution.
Presently, Shia PG College is managed by a trust with former MP S Akhter Hussain Rizvi at the helm of affairs. The group led by Maulana Athar Rizvi and his son Maulana Yasoob Abbas who have formed the All India Shia Personal Law Board (AISPLB) have upper hand in the trust while the faction owing allegiance to Maulan Kalbe Jawwad is feeling sidelined.
