Patna: A group of residents of Azamgarh today met Azamgarh District Magistrate and submitted with him a memorandum seeking the intervention of President of India in the case of Narendra Modi government ad wherein had appeared a picture of Azamgarh Shibli College girls. The ad was about ‘prosperity’ of Muslims in Gujarat.

“The publication of the picture of Azamgarh girls in the Modi government ad is highly condemnable,” said Masihuddin Sanjari, member of the delegation that submitted the memorandum to Azamgarh DM. “We have demanded the President to punish the Gujarat government for the immoral act,” said Masihuddin.

“It is a simple case of cheating of Muslims. In the ad they claimed Muslims are prospering in Gujarat and living a good life, but to show that they used picture of Azamgarh girls. To prove their claim they could not find even a picture from Gujarat. This act has exposed their claim. They have cheated Muslims,” said Masihuddin, Azamgarh Division Incharge of People’s Union of Civil Liberties. The memorandum was submitted from the organization.

The delegation included PUCL members Tariq Shafique and Rajiv Yadav besides others.
