Lucknow : The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) Wednesday filed an additional chargesheet against terror suspect Fahim Ansari, recently acquitted in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack case, for his alleged involvement in a terrorist attack on a paramilitary camp in Rampur, officials said.
The chargesheet was filed at the Rampur district court, where Ansari was presented amid tight security arrangements.
Ansari, presently lodged in Bareilly Central Jail, is facing charges under the Arms Act, the Explosives Act and those of forgery and criminal conspiracy.
Though the ATS officials declined to divulge anything about the additional chargesheet, sources said it charges Ansari with hiding evidences and not cooperating in the investigations.
The court fixed June 30 the next date of hearing, officials added.
Besides Ansari, seven others others are also accused of involvement in the Dec 31, 2007 attack on a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Rampur in Uttar Pradesh that killed seven CRPF personnel and a civilian.
Ansari was taken to Mumbai in December 2008, almost 10 months after his arrest, after it came to light that the handlers of the 26/11 used maps seized from Ansari.
