Eight people, including the son of the chairman of the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) at Mumbai, B. Sharma, were arrested and Rs.60 lakh seized from banks accounts of the official by the CBI.

At least Rs.12 lakh was confiscated from former additional divisional railway manager A.K. Jagannathan as the CBI personnel conducted simultaneous raids in Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Raipur to unearth the scam involving recruitments for the posts of assistant station masters and loco-pilots.

Sharma has been suspended.
