Two more killed in Anantga, violence spreads in Kashmir

Srinagar: Kashmir continues to remain tense with reports of violence in Anantnag where a curfew like situation has been imposed after two people were killed in fresh firing. Three others are reported to be seriously injured.

At least two youth were killed in CRPF firing here in Anantnag, south Kashmir on Tuesday, reports said.

With this the number of civilian deaths in the Valley in the last two weeks has gone up to 10.

According to sources two people were killed and three others injured in police and Central Reserve Police Force firing in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday. Officials at the Anantnag Hospital confirmed that two people who were injured during clashes at SK Colony in Anantnag died on their way to the hospital.

A 15-year-old Ishtiyaq Ahmad Khanday son of Abdul Ahad Khanday of SK Colony Anantnag and Imtiyaz Ahmad Itoo son of Abdul Ahad Itoo Amir of Vitragham, Anantnag, declared dead, said police officials.

Meanwhile three persons were injured in the clashes with police and paramilitary forces, which fired tear gas shells and used batons to disperse the agitators, police said.
