Mumbai : Big Street, a venture of Reliance Broadcast Network promoted by Anil Ambani, has bagged two projects, including the street furniture makeover contract from the Delhi Tourism and Transport Development Corporation’s (DTTDC), aimed at beautifying the city during the Commonwealth Games.
“The DTTDC has awarded the project of street furniture makeover for 22 years (initial 15 years, further extendible by seven years) on a build, operate and transfer (BOT) basis to Big Street,” said a company official.
He said the DTTDC street furniture project is a part of DTTDC’s Commonwealth Games plans to beautify Delhi. Big Street will create structures ranging from public toilets, vending kiosks, police booths, information panels, benches, dustbins, auto prepaid booth and free standing panels.
Big Street will cover over 19 km of high advertising demand locations covering the ITO Bridge, Nizamuddin Bridge, road from Akshar Dham to ITO Chungi and the inner roads of Yamuna Sports Complex.
“Big Street is ensuring delivery of international standards through its tie up with Hong Kong-based street furniture specialist, Qumbet,” the official said.
The company has also bagged another project to put up digital pods at Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s (DMRC) underground stations for eight years, (initial five years, further extendible by three years), he added.
The digital pods across DMRC’s underground stations will offer commuters information about ticket rates, station facility information and updates on the games.
“The screens across stations will be networked using a wireless or wireline connectivity and will be remote managed for content updates,” the official said.
