Panchkula: The Aircel-Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) will conduct the Players Championship presented by Panchkula Golf Club March 4-7, offering a prize money of Rs.40 lakh.
Some of the top professionals from the PGTI such as Mukesh Kumar, Gaurav Ghei, Mohd Siddikur Rahman, Shamim Khan, Vijay Kumar, Kunal Bhasin, Gurki Shergill, Vishal Singh, Gaurav Pratap Singh, Harendra Gupta, Harmeet Kahlon and Arjun Singh, are expected to battle it out for top honours.
The last edition of the Aircel-PGTI Players Championship was quite special as it saw Gaganjeet Bhullar achieve his maiden professional victory by a mammoth seven-stroke margin. There has been no looking back for Bhullar since then, as he has gone on to add six more titles to his kitty, including two at the international level.
D.S. Dhesi, financial commissioner and principal secretary to Haryana government and vice-president of Panchkula Golf Club, said: “We are very happy to conduct the fourth PGTI tournament at Panchkula Golf Club. These four tournaments have been conducted within a span of two years. This speaks about the high standards of the course and the club.”

Padamjit Sandhu, director of PGTI, said: “The initiatives taken by the management of the Panchkula Golf Club are set to go a long way in taking the sport of golf to the masses in Haryana. We will continue to partner with HUDA and help create better infrastructure and events to accelerate the growth of golf in the state of Haryana. We are confident that the increase in prize money will raise the level of competition at this year’s Aircel-PGTI Players Championship.”
